#3 will blow your mind… 🤯

1. You won’t sing perfectly every time.

That’s why people still use autotune and pitch correction.

It’s a quick fix within a song when you mess up.

Embrace that your voice is a work in progress.

Don’t fixate on your mess ups. Be open to fix it with the right guidance. Enjoy your time singing.

2. You don’t fix your singing right away.

When you have the right guidance and coaching, you rely on everyone else to always tell you what you did right or wrong.

You need to train your ears and learn to quickly detect when you sing something off.

Fix it immediately. Train your muscle memory. 🧠

If you don’t… it’s like ignoring a bad behavior from a puppy in training.
You won’t learn. You will keep making the same mistakes.

3. Laugh off your mistakes & don’t quit.

When you practice and make a mistake, smile or laugh it off and try again.

If you get angry, your muscles and your body will tense up. Your voice will sound more tight and strained.

If you laugh, you stay relaxed and are owning it. Take control over the mistakes and train yourself to fix it quickly so it rarely happens again.

4. You are hurting your own confidence.

When you say “I suck” or “I sound like an unalive cat” … you are putting your confidence down everytime.
Even if you’re making a joke.

Your brain is subconsciously listening. When you muster up the courage to sing, you will actually believe it and hold yourself back.

Be kinder to your voice and it will work with you, not against you.

5. If it feels weird or different, you might be doing something right.

I help my @pocketsingers community with feedback and a new hack to try for their voice, they tend to say “it feels weird… it’s different.”

THAT IS A GOOD SIGN.

Trust in the process. If it HURTS or doesn’t SOUND GOOD to you, then we can try something else.

But different just means you aren’t doing the same thing over and over. 🔁

When this happens you have two options.

1. You can stop and turn off the song and run away.

This will change the mood and start the habit of, if I mess up, I have to run and hide. 🫣

2. Keep singing, laugh it off. Try again.

This will show that you’re capable of being human and imperfect. And that there’s no pressure to sound perfect.

Karaoke is meant to be a fun activity with friends.

If you’re the type to be fixated on how you messed up and blame it on 37 different excuses…

you will come off unlikable.

Laugh it off. Smile. Have fun.

Try again and surprise yourself when you sing it more relaxed. 🤪

This was our first time in Rome.

I was meeting with singing members from @pocketsingers elite community during my mom’s special birthday week.

We traveled 16 hrs to Rome from Florida.

My mom, brother and I were so tired but full of excitement!

My voice didn’t feel the way it used to.

Traveling causes a lot of fatigue.

We weren’t drinking enough water.

Lack of sleep will do it to you.

As embarrassing as it was, I chose to laugh it off.

Just keep showing up.

Because no matter where you’re at in your singing journey, embrace it all.

This is the first step letting go and loving your voice again. ❤️‍🩹
