I’ve never been to a concept store like Spatio where every detail pays homage to all things Filipino! It was a beautiful morning out in the market, and then it rained cats and dogs…so it got even more beautiful. ❤️ I was curious to see how Alfie would react to the rain. He was afraid of the cold drops of water at first. They were big drops coming fast while he was running around the dog park but I knew we wouldn’t make it home in time so we stayed under a lovely lady’s open tent. Her name is Ms Armie and she sells beautiful flowers every Saturday in the Salcedo market. I got the orange and purple ones from her. I chatted with her for about half an hour as the rain got stronger and stronger. Ms Armie expertly tended to customers who were shockingly still buying bouquets despite the deluge 😂 and she would continue our conversations plus try and calm Alfie down with me (he was shaking at first)….all without missing a beat. It was so lovely to meet her and her son today.

After a few minutes, I saw Alfie perk up. He was staring at two beautiful little girls who were soaked in the rain, laughing with their dad while holding on to their watered down ice cream cones. I think they showed Alfie the rain was fun. They ended up under the same tent as us too, trying to pass the time. They were both very articulate at 2 and 4 years old. They asked me a lot of questions about Alfie and I noticed that the younger girl took a liking to my flowers so I gave her and her sister one each. After thanking me, the older sister suddenly blurted out “oh he’s so cute! I’m gonna remember him forever.” She looked up at me and her smile got shy as she asked “Do you think Alfie will remember me forever?” 🥹💕 I promised her he would.

We’ve now shot more than half of our film and we’re gonna start hearing the songs from our film very, very soon 🥹🙈 I love the daily grind…but today, I’m gonna chill and write with my friends at home, we’re gonna enjoy this weekend before Monday rolls around again 🥹 and I’m gonna keep on playing this song because it’s been putting me in such a good mood 💃🏻

Had the yummiest beef Wellington canapés, crab cakes and fish and chips and was spoiled with West End classics but the true highlight for me was listening to ambassador Laure Beaufils @laurebeaufils speak in Tagalog when she addressed the energetic crowd 🥹💕 sending you sunshine on your next post, ma’am! We will miss you here in Manila 🥹

Happy Independence Day everybody! 💕

Some of the songs I chose for my OPM playlist called Binibining Bela are songs my Kuya and cousins used to listen to when I was growing up like Alapaap, Masaya and Huwag Na Init Ulo Baby. Fun fact, my cousin @ohnoitsmika (our coolest cousin) was in a Radioactive Sago Project MV when I was still in high school…and I loved listening to their songs ever since! I also added in my OPM faves that I’ve featured in my films like Balisong and Zia Quizon’s version of Umaaraw Umuulan.

My list also includes classics like Apo Hiking Society’s songs. Some of which I got lovely anecdotes of straight from the source…when I was working with Tito @bobgarrov on different acting projects 🥹💕
