Ozzy part 2. On Green Day first album disappearing boy has a breakdown. I liked to adlib the bridge from “l don’t know” . 🎶 nobody ever told me I found out for myself/ you gotta believe in foolish miracles 🎵 .. I feel like whether I was paying attention or not Ozzy was a constant in our lives . I loved the Osborne’s tv show. A house of love and chaos. Funny and sweet. Sharon is such a rock. Brilliant. Tough as nails. Protector of the family. Anyway.. I don’t know what compelled me to write this . I think I was just touched by the whole live stream. All the bands were great (dear Steven Tyler.. we need more Aerosmith! Your voice is better than ever!)
Jack and Kelly let’s paint fake mustaches again some time!. And one last note. Me Mike and Tre were trying to decide an album cover for Warning. We were mixing the record at oceanway studios when in walked Geezer Butler. We showed him the different covers and he pointed to one and said “I like this one because it’s darkness”. That’s the one we picked

A perfect ending to an amazing European tour .. first time we ever played Athens. A highlight of the tour. I’ll have this memory forever! The night before I watched the live feed of Ozzy/Black Sabbath concert.. It brought back so many vital moments in my music life. First songs Mike and I played together was crazy train. Ozzy solo records hit me first before Black Sabbath. I think the first time I heard Sabbath was ozzy’s live record speak of the devil. Brad Gillis on guitar. Randy Rhodes passed away right when I started playing guitar. One of the most influential rock guitarists in history. A beautiful soul . I had a friend in that lived in crockett California. He was a couple years older. A massive Black Sabbath fan. His walls were covered in Sabbath posters. Looking at all the dark imagery on the walls I thought I entered the bedroom of doom! He played bass. Huge Geezer Butler fan. I jammed with him a few times. His name is scott holderby . He became the lead singer of the band Mordred. I bought the first Black Sabbath record when I was a freshman in high school. The song that stood out to me was “the wizard”. I went out a bought a harmonica to learn the harp solo . Tony Iomi guitar playing is on the Mount Everest of guitar gods. If you analyze his riff they are actually singalongs. Iron man, NIB, sabbath bloody sabbath. I can’t think of many other bands you can sing along to a guitar riff. Genius. Bill Ward was such a highlight to see playing in the original lineup . That groove. Those fills. Hard rock jazz that plays inbetwen the bass lines and the riffs. Accentuates the lead vocal. Brilliant drumming! Like every concert goer I had a tear in my eye when Ozzy sang mamma I’m coming home. Oh and JAKE E LEE!! I was so happy to see him on stage. Bark at the moon riffs are so fucking amazing. Also one of my favorite solos is on shot in the dark. Playing from slide guitar to melodic shredding . Zakk Wyled splitting duties between Pantera and Ozzy. Those pinch harmonics are undeniable. He also has one of my favorite instagrams. The stage walk of the ultimate warrior toy is hilarious!
