We Had A 36-Hour Blackout

They Bombed the Bakery

Nowhere Is Safe

‘Where’s the safe places if you kill the people and bomb it?’ Despite repeatedly being bombed in Israeli airstrikes, Ahmad’s hometown has become a shelter for thousands of people evacuating northern Gaza. Water is extremely scarce and the back-up generators that have been supplying electricity are starting to run out of fuel. Ice cream trucks have been turned into storage for dead bodies.

My House Could Be Bombed
‘They bombed houses with people inside them.’ Yesterday, after fleeing his home in the middle of the night because of a threat of Israeli bombardment, Ahmad made his way home. Today, his house is still standing, but he still has no water or electricity because of the siege on Gaza. The Israeli government has blocked food, electricity, and water into Gaza, which is considered a war crime under international law.
