Terima kasih Bali! What an incredible night screening September Sessions, and having @rob_machado join Jack on stage for F-stop Blues. Jack wrote the song when he and Rob were in Indonesia together back in 1999 on a surf trip capturing moments that would become the iconic surf film September Sessions. Today is World Environment Day — and this year’s theme is beating plastic pollution.

For decades, Jack & Kim Johnson have supported efforts to reduce single-use waste and build a more circular, less disposable future. From implementing reusable cup systems on tour to championing grassroots non-profits around the world, their work spans community action, education and more.

10 years ago, they spent #WorldEnvironmentDay in Eleuthera, Bahamas for the SEA Change Youth Summit with partners like @5gyres, @bahamasplasticmovement, and @plasticpollutes. That same week, Jack joined a 5 Gyres research expedition in the Sargasso Sea — footage from which became part of the documentary The Smog of the Sea, directed by @wickedelicate

We’re revisiting that moment by sharing a clip from the film — a reminder that every action, big or small, can help turn the tide. #AAOPlasticFree

25 years ago, Thicker Than Water hit the screen for the first time.

A film by Jack Johnson, Chris Malloy and Emmett Malloy, the film helped shape a generation of surfers and storytellers—blending cinematography with a soundtrack that still resonates today and sparked the beginning of Jack’s music career.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Look At All The Love We Found: A Tribute to @Sublime, we’re throwing it back to 2005 with this live version of Jack playing Badfish in Osaka, Japan with @moneymark.

The original tribute album—featuring Jack’s take on Badfish/Boss DJ—has been remastered and updated with new tracks from @phillyglove, @descendents, @_pennywise, @stickfiguremusic, @slightlystoopid, @jakobnowell, and more.

Happy Earth Day from the farm! 🌱 This weekend, Jack and Kim celebrated early with over 300 friends at the @kokualearningfarm Farm Fun Day hosted by @kokuahawaiifoundation

Families explored the farm, learned about sustainability, and had fun connecting with local farmers, educators, and community partners. It’s days like this that remind us why we protect the Earth- for the next generation.
