When I took this selfie, I could never in a Mesozoic Age have predicted that @pontifex would ‘scoop’ me and post the moment first. 😭😂💪🏽🙏🏽

I’m still joyfully dazed and beyond humbled to have gotten to meet His Holiness Pope Leo XIV so early into his papacy, along with my castmates- @elizabethtabish, @georgehxanthis, and @vanessabenavente_ and my entire team (@amdglisa, @ashleyparker_hmu, @redlettermgmt, @mircodicenta, @thechosentvseries).

Thank you, Pope Leo for taking the time to meet and share with us, and for your kindness, charity and serene countenance. The Peace and Spirit of the Lord is clearly upon you and we were all blessed to receive His Peace through you. 🙏🏽🕊️

Additionally, your words of gratitude to me personally for the weighty and life-changing service the Lord has committed me to in portraying Christ both moved and encouraged me immensely.
Your sentiments will stay with me forever.

Here I am.

On this Feast of the Holy Trinity.

These photos will likely be the only glimpse of me out of costume / makeup that I’ll be able to share for quite a long time; standing next to the cross on which I have become intimately acquainted these last two weeks.
In fact, I probably won’t get to take photos like these again, given the breakneck schedule and continued intensity of the work ahead.

There is yet more suffering to endure, not only as my character, but through my own sacrificial offering as an artist to embody and accept every ounce of pain and discomfort associated with the process of making Christ’s own suffering very real to everyone who not only participates in the production, but to those who witness the finished product. I.e., YOU.

How’s it going?
Well…there’s not much I can physically say at this point.

Not because we’re under NDA’s (we are), but rather, because I have been rendered utterly speechless through this experience in so many ways.

I have witnessed many members of my cast and crew emotionally leveled much in the same way I have been.
The grace is that we have been lifting each other up throughout, and I couldn’t feel more blessed.
What we are creating shall transcend all of us.

To that end, “Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth.”

Your continued prayers are vital to our success and wellbeing.

My dear Friends…

This month, I’m filming one of the most sacred, painful, and defining moments in all of human history: the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. ✝️
I’d be lying if I said it’s “business as usual”. Or easy. Or “fun scenes to film”.

It’s not.

It’s heavy. It’s humbling. And it’s holy.

But in preparation for, and amidst this profound responsibility, I’ll be uniting myself more intentionally to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the very heart that broke for us. 💔

I’m praying with the Sacred Heart Prayer Challenge on @hallowapp, led by Mother Olga that includes my recording of the Sacred Heart Novena.
