We did it! There are lots more photos and videos to come, but I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us last night. There is no performance without an audience, and we are so grateful for your support.

What a fantastic food festival. Well done Crickhowell! As a professional singer and Choral Conductor, I was honoured to perform as a musical guest at this inaugural event.

Evergreen Chorus sang in the morning, and all the choir members agreed it was an amazing event. It's in our diaries for next year!

We can't wait for the Artisan Market today!

With my buddy 🐾 in the beautiful Mendips. I enjoyed a lovely hike on Crooks Peak this week with my friend @sam_goodger_ . We had a hot cup of tea on top of the world! ⛰️

A little prep before a wild camp 🏕️

Connecting with nature has multiple benefits for us, and for me it’s been a stress relief, especially as we limp to the finish line of our house move. Trying to enjoy all North Somerset has to offer whilst we still live here and the sun is shining!

Big Changes are afoot in our house, as we await exchanging and completing on our new home, in a new town, in a new country! (An hour away 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿). With everything packed up in boxes, I have made an effort to keep a celebration ring at the centre of our table. How cute are the flower children from @ostheimerwoodentoys! I have wanted these for years, and am delighted to finally see their happy faces bless our home.

I am very excited about the new school year starting, and am thrilled that despite our move, I will still be working in North Somerset on Mondays:

Conducting The Hawthorns Choir
Private Lessons
Teaching at a local Primary School
Conducting Evergreen Chorus

I Will be growing my practice at our new location, but not ready to start planning for it as I don’t want to jinx our move! It’s been almost a year now and we’ve all lost patience with the process. Can anyone relate to the broken house buying/selling system in the U.K.?

I will be continuing my MA studies this autumn as well, and have decided to focus my research on Musicianship and developing musical skills in community choirs.

Enjoy these last few weeks of summer. I am dreaming of the apple trees in my new garden 🌳 🍎

Many of our audience members took videos on their phones on Sunday night.

I have uploaded many of them to my YouTube channel! 🎥

Go check it out! I will put the link in my bio.

I am still recovering from what I can only describe as one of the most fulfilling and happiest moments in both my working and musical life. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing with you different images from the recent concert held at Saint George’s in Bristol. Watch me reels for snippets of our music too!

In the world of conducting, it’s easy to get imposter syndrome ( especially if you are a woman who has taken time out of your career to raise your children!) however, I can honestly say after the feedback I have received from our performance, I am simply feeling proud of the immense sound each choir managed to achieve. To be able to lead community choirs to a concert of this proportion and magnitude fills me with pride, joy, and the confidence to take my conducting to the next level.

Our wonderfully supportive audience had my back (pun intended!) the whole time, so I would like to share some images of the choir’s view. As a conductor my job is to be emotive - the more emotion and energy I put in, the choir meets the mark. So needless to say we all stepped up our energy levels on Sunday Night!

Thank you again to Evergreen Chorus, The Backwell and Nailsea Ladies Choir, and The Saint Andrew’s Children’s Choir (and our accompanists and John Arnold on percussion) for a superb concert. We smashed it! 🎶

EVERGREEN CHORUS

We started just after lockdown; 2 years ago. I had ceremoniously lost my job teaching music in secondary schools at the beginning of Covid, and spent a few years lost in the wilderness of homeschooling and a ‘new normal’.

When groups of 30 were allowed to gather outdoors, I thought to myself… why not start a choir? Well more than 2 years later, here we are. A fantastic group of people singing a wide variety of fun and beautiful music. A 30+ voice community choir born from the trees and now settled at The Chapel in Wrington on Monday evenings.

We are singing at St. George’s in Bristol on Sunday July 16th. Ticket info coming soon!

It’s time to come together 🎶

Happy New Year to all!

I am entering 2023 with an open heart and mind - determined to give energy to positivity and happiness. To take ownership for my life and to follow new paths. Most importantly, to love myself, to give grace to myself, and all those who choose to walk this journey with me.

May 2023 bring us all a little closer to feeling complete.

A scene this morning from our balcony. Today will be one of the coldest days on record here… - 30 degrees Celsius , feels like up to - 40 at times. Seems fitting for the winter solstice to dig deep and find your inner warmth in all this cold and darkness.

GOD JUL

This image brings me a lot of joy and calm, at such a busy time of year. Breathe in. Breathe out. Enjoy the magic, take time for little moments of quiet calm. Light a candle, look at your tree in wonder and awe, put on your favourite Carol and be thankful for all the small joys we can delight in during the depths of winter.

xx

Hike the mountains - breathe deeply - challenge yourself - focus on each step, and when you get to the top… be proud!

Tonight I conquered my fear of heights and hiked to the top of this mountain behind my cousin’s house. You know how it is though - pictures never do the real thing justice. Gotta enjoy the moment.

Starting a sun catcher collection on the window again. I am going to make at least one a month, each in a different colour and style. They bring me and my children so much joy! Also - paper folding is very meditative. ⚖️
