When @samjaycomic and @keithjohnsonhq asked me to be a guest on their newest series, "On sight," a late-night therapy show, I had no idea what to expect. Naturally, I'm a very candid/transparent person, so I knew I wouldn't be able to fake any reactions I had during my "session."

Things that ran through my mind:

1) Would I be triggered even though it's all jokes?

2) Im funny, but am I a "professional comedian"-funny?

I wasn't stressed per se, but I just had no clue! Lol -And looking back, Sam definitely wanted our truest reactions. lol

The night before, I prepped by telling myself to just be me no matter what, and in the end, I killed it. I was funny as (per usual), on key (as per usual) and I was fucking cute (as per usual! lol

Everyone who knows me knows that I can talk anyone about anything but talking about my music always feels a little awkward. Lol
Fortunately since Matt and I already friends the vibes were easy and the convo just flowed.

Man, oh man—I really feel like I’m “cooking in the kitchen like a Simmons whipping pastry!” When I kicked off my shortcake shenanigans on July 8th, I had no idea that just a week and a half later, I’d have made nearly 50 cakes—and brought so many smiles along the way.

What started as a way to help supplement my GoFundMe for housing has turned into something that honestly feels like a whole business. And I’m having so much fun doing it.

Today was the first day since I restarted the shortcake hustle that I didn’t have to bake a single cake—and it felt… strange. But I know I needed the rest. I’m still managing a full-time career where I educate artists on sync licensing, handle A&R, and curate music for major brands. So yes, my body still needs to function past those 3AM cake bakes 😂.

That said, I couldn’t be more grateful. I really do see this turning into something special—and something sustainable.

To that point: I’ll be partnering with @chasingchaz for my very first shortcake pop-up, happening @frogwinebar on August 1st! I’ll share full details soon, but wanted to give y’all a soft date so you can pencil it in, pull up, hang out, and of course—buy some shortcake.

I’ll be bringing them pre-sliced for easy grab-and-go, but if you want to hold one whole on the spot, I got you—I’ll have a few on hand!
