Dublin, Ireland.
The first time I played here was in 2011 at a venue called The Twisted Pepper. It held about 100 people legally, but that night it was packed well beyond capacity. The walls were sweating. The energy was electric. Raucous. It was one of those nights that stays with you. It was the beginning of a deep connection, not just to a city, but to a place my ancestors once called home.

Last night was my first full set in 10 months. That’s the longest break I’ve taken in over 15 years. The corporate gigs that usually come through between tours strangely stopped calling (Free Palestine.) I interpreted it as the universe’s way of saying “All money isn’t good money, time is precious, be at home with your family and get re-centered.” So that’s what I’ve done.

Still, I had nerves before Dublin. Ten months is a lot of time. Enough space to overthink, to wonder if something’s shifted, if the drive is still there. But the minute I touched the stage, it all came back. 18,000 people. Keffiyehs. Irish flags. Palestinian flags. Fans going bar for bar. That same raw energy I first felt at The Twisted Pepper.

Something about the Irish spirit. Raw. Unbreakable. Full of heart. A perfect way to re-enter into the summer season of shows. And a great reminder…there’s still work to do out here ✨
