Life has a way of creating moments that leave an indelible mark on our hearts.

Never in my wildest imagination did I think I would see this day. Fourteen years ago, when my wife passed away, the weight of her absence felt unbearable. I couldn’t imagine living, let alone moving forward. But through the grace of God and the love of family, we made it.

Now, on December 19, 2024, at 6:22 AM, I find myself in a whole new phase of life, welcoming the next generation of my family. Today, with overwhelming joy and a full heart, I am honored to introduce to you the first of I don’t know how many blessings to come: my first grandchild, a namesake of my late wife, MaLinda Janae.

Holding her is a powerful reminder of love, legacy, and God’s promises fulfilled. As I look at her, I am reminded of the biblical principles that have guided me. Based on Proverbs 13:22, which teaches that “a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,” I have made the financial investment for her college tuition and for the tuition of future grandchildren to come. This is more than an investment in education; it is an investment in legacy, ensuring that the next generations are equipped to walk in their purpose without limitation.

To little MaLinda Janae, my heart overflows with gratitude and hope. You carry a name that represents love, resilience, and faith, and I know you will walk in greatness.

To everyone reading this, let this be a reminder that life’s greatest blessings often come when we build on God’s principles, preparing not just for today but for the generations to follow.

As I reflect on life, I’m reminded that the footprint we leave behind speaks volumes about who we are. For me, legacy is everything. It’s about what we build, instill, and pass on to the generations that follow.

Since the birth of my children @marvsappjr @mmm.kai and @moreof.madss my focus has been on ensuring I leave them and grandchildren better off than when they entered this world. Despite the challenges and differing opinions along the way, I’ve remained steadfast, doing the very best I could.

This New Year marks more than a fresh start, it’s the beginning of a new chapter for the Sapp family. I’m overjoyed to introduce my second grandchild, Maverick Prince Sapp, born on New Year’s Eve at 6:02pm, just 13 days after his cousin MaLinda. Holding him in my arms, I’m reminded of the promises I made long ago, commitments I’ve worked tirelessly to fulfill.

Looking into Maverick’s eyes, just as I did with MaLinda 13 days ago, I’m reminded of a truth that has guided my life: it’s never about us. Life is about the impact we make and the legacy we leave behind. I’ve made a promise to Maverick, as I have to all my immediate family, to ensure his future is secure and filled with promise.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way aren’t just for me, they’re meant to be passed down. I want Maverick to know that love and responsibility for those who come after us are the foundation of a meaningful life.

Seeing him and the rest of my family inspires me to keep building a legacy that will make their journey better. Legacy isn’t just a goal; it’s my purpose, and for that, I am deeply grateful.

So walk in your authority, little “Prince” a name that carries the honor of your late grandmother’s maiden name. While we carry you now, the day will come when you understand the weight of who you are, and I have no doubt you will make us proud.

The Chosen Vessel Church – 4650 Campus Dr., Fort Worth, TX

We don’t just talk about being the church we show up, serve, and become the hands and feet of Jesus.

On Saturday, July 26th from 11AM to 1PM, we’re hosting a Back-to-School Bash like no other at @chosenvessel_tcvc , in partnership with Convoy of Hope! Together, we’re preparing to bless students and families across our city with free backpacks, school supplies, groceries, resources, and more because we believe generosity is ministry and compassion is our calling.

Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 19:17, “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.” When we give to others, we’re not just making a difference we’re honoring God Himself.

And in 1 John 3:17–18, we’re challenged with this truth: “If anyone has this world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.”

This is our moment to put action behind our faith. To meet practical needs with spiritual love. To show our city that God cares and so do we.

Out and about handling business on this extremely hot but beautiful DFW metroplex day decided to grab a quick bite at Chick-fil-A. I went with the healthy grilled 8-count, and while I was waiting, a few of the team members decided to serenade me with one of my own songs! 🔥🎶

What blew my mind is that this song was written and recorded before any of them were even born. Yet here they are, singing every word like it dropped yesterday. Just goes to show music truly transcends time.

I told them I’d post it, and a promise is a promise. 🙌🏾

Grateful that even now, God still allows my music to speak… and even more grateful that He still sees the best in me especially when others try to see the worst.

I’m globally assigned, but locally focused. 🌍📍

At @chosenvessel_tcvc , we’ve launched something special called “Private Lessons” an intentional, intensive discipleship moment where I separate the men and women and personally pour into them. I give clear instruction on what it means to walk in their Kingdom assignment practically, spiritually, and relationally.

I didn’t post the women (we had nearly 300 in attendance), but today I want to highlight the men, men who are not just striving to be better leaders, but better priests of their homes. 🙌🏽🔥

What took place was both informative and transformative. God is raising up a generation of men who will lead with wisdom, humility, and authority.

We’re shifting as a ministry and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come.

Next session: September.
