F# m: i (tonic chord, establishing the key of F # minor)

E: VII (leading tone chord, creating tension)

D: VI (submediant chord, providing partial resolution)

Bm: iv (subdominant chord, adding contrast and emotional depth)

D: VI (submediant chord, repeating the partial resolution)

E: VII (leading tone chord, re-establishing tension)

D: VI (submediant chord, reinforcing partial resolution)

Dm: F# m and A major are relative keys, meaning they share the same natural chords. However, by using the Dm chord in the key of F# m, I'm employing a modal interchange technique. The Dm is not part of the F# m scale, but it is part of the A minor scale, which is the relative minor scale of A major. By "borrowing" the Dm from the A minor scale, I'm creating a bridge between the keys of F# m and A major, and adding variety and harmonic complexity to the progression.
