#RosamundPike identifies playing Elspeth Catton in 2023’s #Saltburn as one of her defining roles. Hidden beneath her humorous quips and covetable wardrobe, it is easy to forget the tragedy Elspeth goes through in losing both children, and that duality was reflected in Pike’s preparation for the role. During the press tour, her stylist (and Bazaar’s contributing fashion editor) Leith Clark, riffed off Elsbeth’s eccentricity with vibrant, dramatic ensembles by the likes of Dior, Rodarte and Bode (“Surely if there’s ever a character with which one can have colourful, outrageous fun [on the red carpet], it’s Elspeth,” Pike points out). But behind the scenes, Pike would stay “up late at night in the chat rooms of women who’ve lost children and have generously shared on social media about how you can continue to live when you’ve suffered the loss of your child. The internet has become an amazing resource for actors who want to understand deeply an authentic experience.”

Had such a lovely night on Friday: first public screening at @everymancinema ‘s Screen on the Green in Islington. Hosted by @soundtrackinguk and the magnificent, insightful @edibow . @babak_anvari62 and I had a great time leaving people with questions answered and plenty more unanswered. 😁 Hallow Road is at cinemas everywhere throughout the U.K.

I have always loved being a visitor in another world. But nothing prepared me for the wonder of this morning, two weeks ago. We left @patinamaldives at 7am in the hope of maybe seeing manta rays at a “cleaning station” where small fish swim inside the gills and mouths of mantas, ridding them of parasites that live there. As we arrived at the potential spot, we noticed the water was full of plankton and suddenly we were surrounded by mantas. We jumped in with snorkels and a dance of uncommon beauty unfolded. I have seen many wonderful creatures below the surface of the sea, and I have come to expect a brief and wondrous sighting before the creature disappears into a realm whither I cannot follow. But on this day, us ungainly land dwellers got to breathe and frolic in the slipstream of these magnificent creatures and wonder at their majesty for an hour or more. Thank you @dive_butler_fari_veli and @_underwater_sloth_ for the most astonishing of days. #manta #snorkeling #maldives
