“Do you think I’ll see Iran again?”

It is not only my father’s voice I hear, but the echo of millions: those who fled the land they loved, and those who remain behind, still waiting for the day Iran might be Iran again.

Peace is not only about demanding an end to war, but also an end to nuclear enrichment and to the Islamic Republic regime.

Peace is about demanding the sovereignty of the Iranian people and not their oppressors.

I hope you’ll read my essay for @TIME

A powerful poem against war—in all its forms.
Written by the brilliant Iranian poet Mahzad Razi, and translated into English by me.

For a people no longer under falling bombs, the fire has not ceased. It burns now in the form of repression—deeper, quieter, more brutal than before.

Once again Iranian lives have been politicized and human rights fall by the wayside.

Thanks to @yaldahakim and @skynews for helping us highlight this.

Cloaked in an internet blackout, the Islamic Republic turns its fury inward—intensifying repression to silence a wounded nation.

Thank you @phil_mattingly and @theleadcnn for giving voice to the plight of the Iranian people.

The Islamic Republic is not Iran.

Thank you, dear @amnaonpbs, @danielsagalyn and @newshour for this opportunity to amplify civil society voices inside Iran.

Democratization in Iran can happen neither amid conflict nor under the Islamic Republic’s rule.

Now is the time to unite—across borders, across differences.
For freedom. For dignity. For Iran.

🤝 Share this. Stand with the people. Let the world hear us. (Swipe for the statement in English).

Note: This is not the formation of an exclusive and official group but a call to action by individuals to unite for a free Iran. And we are aware that as of the date this has been posted, while Iran faces an internet blackout, engagement will be mostly—if not entirely—with people outside Iran.

“I was just three weeks old when my parents fled to the UK, seeking asylum. With little money and no safety net, they took on menial jobs—far beneath their qualifications—to keep us afloat.” - @nazaninboniadi

Nazanin Boniadi is an Iranian-born, SAG and AACTA Award-nominated actress and renowned activist. She has partnered with Amnesty International since 2008 to campaign for the rights of disenfranchised populations across the world, with a focus on the unjust conviction and treatment of Iranian youth, women and prisoners of conscience.

“Two decades of activism have taught me that while raising awareness is vital, solution-based advocacy is what drives real progress. Effective activism isn’t just about opposing injustice; it’s about building coalitions, setting clear goals, and learning from setbacks.” - Nazanin Boniadi
