What would you tell your younger self?
Well for me..

When I first started singing in 1993 ,all I wanted to do was just sing and be a performer. There was so much of challenges that I faced with mismanagement of my funds. they knew that they could make me into a Cashcow. And at a very tender age of 16 I learned the hard way..
At 21 years old when I became a household name as Ning Baizura, my first concert was held in a stadium with the support of 8000 fans ... My management at the time ran away with a lot of funds. like A LOT

Can u imagine the pressure, the stress, the mental torture that I went through ?
At 21 , I was declared a bankrupt as soon as my first concert was over…
many people didn’t know this , the only ones who knew at that time was only the printing media , & the fans who grew up with my music at that time they knew my struggles.

My mental health was at stake, I had so much pressure internally and externally ..

but those struggles made me tougher , stronger & resilient.. it made me who I am today , A humble independent performing artist who manages herself and knows how to read contracts & NOW I am a tough cookie …Alhamdulilah

And so now that I am 50, after 32 years of being in this music industry, I am talking and sharing openly about my experiences during the peak of my career and this repetition of mismanagement went on and on with so many other mismanagements at that time when i was still very young, all because of greed.. my message to everyone is simple, trust no one but yourself when it comes to your career.. get help if you need help to understand a simple basic contract no matter what line you’re in you need to have the courage to put your foot down and keep believing in your talent keep believing in your extraordinary self.. and you will succeed.. What would you tell your younger self ???? The WOW SHOW season 4 kick-start with advice to our younger self. I think for me personally, growing up with wanting to fit in but was the kid that never really did, growing into my own & accepting my differences as my strength.
I struggle with my weight constantly, there was a time when I was in Boom Boom Room Spore - I was told that I was an embarrassment because of the way i dress & look, that was when I was 21 years old. In a world where all my other colleagues in entertainment were glamously fit & fashionable, I turned my insecurities into fake confidence, wearing bolder outfits & actually fought back ( *bitch back ) with a bark. It was either that or crawled into a corner. I took the effort to present a NEW ME to the world. This one is for all the girls out there who never think you can be your own hero & write your own path. One that celebrates every curve that you are & stop being a side kick in the world, but write your LEADING Lady role.
