Sunset Boulevard was bloody brilliant! I have been a big fan/proponent/supporter of @nicolescherzinger for many years: I directed her as Maureen in the Hollywood Bowl version of Rent, she was my sidekick on the live NBC variety show Best Time Ever, and to now see her owning the St. James Theatre on Broadway as Norma Desmond… I’m incredibly proud, and utterly floored. What she is doing every night is next level, of another world. @jamielloyd ’s hypnotic, electric, cinematic production requires performances to be both big and small, grand and nuanced, wide shot and extreme close-up. And while everyone in the cast crushes it (@realtomfrancis and @youngthacko especially), Nicole is uncanny. I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. I marveled, I cried, I was so glad to bear witness, I probably should have worn a different shirt. She deserves all the awards, and I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.
