Not a chef. Just a husband that likes to cook. 📍Los Angeles, CA

0 to 1mil followers in 7 months... unreal. Beyond grateful and in shock. Thank you all for the love and support.

Earlier this year I was probably at the lowest point of my life. If you followed my story, I worked in finance and decided to quit my 6-figure VP title job in 2019 to purchase a restaurant with my partner. We expanded to three locations within one and a half years until in 2023 we decided this wasn't what we wanted to do so we sold two of the three restaurants to pursue something else. Well that something else never came. For over 12 months I found myself burning through my savings to pay mortgage and bills and the restaurant we still had slowed down a lot and wasn't enough to carry us. My wife also got pregnant at this time and had to be on maternity leave. We weren't going to go broke the next day but maybe another year or two we would have to consider selling the house. I felt responsible since I was the one that moved us out to Torrance and we were expecting a baby. I applied to go back to corporate but the job market was bad and no one would get back to me. I had one interview and I didn't get hired. I was willing to do anything at this point. I figured if I cook every meal for us we can save about $2k/mo. And this is what I did. I would grocery shop every day and plan out all the meals. This brought me some joy because at least I was doing something. I was "earning" money for us. Then I had this idea of putting a camera on my head and uploading to Tiktok and Youtube for side money. I already cook two meals a day so I can easily upload two videos a day. I quickly realized I enjoyed content creating and then I seized the opportunity. I pressed on the gas so hard, and I never looked back. Whatever it is you're looking for, keep fighting and don't give in. We only live once.

When these sushi omakase prices get out of control.

Big shoutout to @rivieraseafoodclub for making this video happen.

Here's the thing - I don't mind paying for a good meal. But when I have to spend $100 (after tax & tip) for a 8oz usda prime filet tossed on the grill by a cook busy pushing out other orders, naw I'm good. I'll spend that at home. $95 for this tomahawk ($28/lb x 3.4lb) at my local butcher. And I was kidding, my wife didn't ask to go to an expensive steakhouse. I just don't like how I have to pay $200 per person with drinks for a steak worse than Costco usda prime made at home.

You know they call me the Korean baptist. I do not recommend anyone try this at home. This was extremely unsafe. I've been seeing a lot of @bsdiningexperiencesc on my feed and wanted to fry some chicken at home so did a DIY backyard bbq - urban edition.

A year ago we posted this video that went viral getting over 20 million views, and it changed the trajectory of our lives forever. Eunice had just given birth and I decided to do a nice sushi omakase meal at home. For some reason I ended up going all out with full costume and a menu, and this became the signature POV Husband style. A lot of you have told me how much you loved this video, especially Eunice's 8/10 rating at the end, which by the way wasn't scripted, it was her honest review 😭

When wife is craving Orange Chicken but you’ve never made it before so you seek help. She says the spicy one is better. The Hot Orange Chicken is out now at your nearest @officialpandaexpress restaurant. #pandaexpresspartner #hotorangechicken

I used to find it funny how someone like me with no cooking experience decided to do restaurants. I would laugh at myself trying to flip eggs and wrap burritos like what am I doing, why am I here? But it wasn't about the food. I wanted my freedom and cooking in the heat felt better than being in the AC office taking orders from my boss telling me my excel table is off center. Eventually I experienced a burnout because the restaurant industry will break you. Employees, equipment, lawsuits, health inspection, inflation, vandalism are just some of the things to deal with if you're profitable. If you're not profitable, forget about it.

So I started uploading videos cooking for my wife at home, and one day I decided to make a breakfast burrito and I brought out the whole kit - flat top grill, ticket printer, black gloves, whatever I would use at my restaurant. I went all out on this random video that I thought no one was going to see. But that video blew up on Tiktok and I got over 10k followers overnight which got me monetized. Since then, I've never looked back.

To me, this channel is not just about food and entertainment. It's also to encourage people to keep searching for what resonates with them and go all-in. Not in the casino, but in life and also in relationships.

When she says she never tried 🇪🇸 food before. Made paella for the first time and it was a success. Wife said she started liking it later... or so she says.

I learned that there are 3 types of jamon leg. The $200 ones you find at Costco or Amazon which is borderline inedible (at least for me). $600 grass-fed 100% iberico (this one) I got online from @ibericoclub . And acorn-fed 100% iberico which goes for $1,000+ (never tried). This is my second time ordering this $600 jamon leg because it's really good.

Wife said I left some things out on the last video so here is part 2 of what goes on behind the scenes.

This is called Ojingeo-bokkeum. It's a spicy stir-fried squid. I got the recipe from @maangchi and also made Muguk which is Korean radish soup. Perfect combo. It was a bit spicy because the red pepper flakes we used was a spicier brand.

Wife tries po' boy for the first time. If I had to try again I would skip the creole sauce and try a remoulade sauce instead. Also skip the buttermilk and instead use hot sauce and mustard to bind the shrimp to the flour/cornmeal mixture.
