Maybe we’ll all face towards the beautiful view instead of the audience 😂

📍TOKYO: Last night I had the chance to visit teamLab Borderless, and it was one of the most inspiring experiences I’ve had in a long time. Thanks to the incredible team, I was given a private tour after hours, walking through each space with no crowds, no noise, just light, sound, and motion.

What struck me wasn’t just the beauty, but the philosophy behind it: art that moves, responds, and connects. There are no boundaries between installations, and people are not just observers, but part of the work itself.

This borderless relationship between art and audience resonated deeply with the work I’ve been doing across my own projects. With Tonic, for example, musicians around the world interact live by throwing flowers into each other’s Studios, lighting fireworks to celebrate someone’s performance, and showing up to support. These moments break down the traditional roles of performer and audience. They become catalysts for connection and friendship.

It’s where the idea that “music is a universal language” stops being just a saying and becomes something you can see, hear, and be part of.

One exhibit I especially loved was their aquarium space, where drawings are brought to life. I drew a shark, and seconds later, it started swimming on the wall. The idea that something you imagine can instantly become part of a shared world is powerful.

@teamlab_borderless の皆さん、本当にありがとうございました。
I’ll be carrying this inspiration with me into everything I continue to do through music 🌊✨

What does it mean to be part of @nyo.usa? @raychenviolin, who joins the orchestra this summer as guest artist and soloist in Felix Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor, pulls back the curtain on rehearsals at @purchasecollege and the experience of being a young musician in the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America.

Tonight, Chen and NYO-USA perform at Carnegie Hall alongside conductor @gianandreanoseda! Then it’s off to Asia, where they’ll bring the same program to a new international audience during a two-week tour across the continent. Follow along! 👉 carnegiehall.org/NYO-USA
