8/29/24 update (from Reese’s mom): Reese is currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil! She was originally assigned to begin her mission on June 10, 2024; however, after months of unexplained illness (and multiple doctor visits), she lost her hearing in her right ear about one week before she was supposed to begin. After discussions with the church, it was decided she would wait one transfer cycle (July 2024) so we could figure out exactly what was going on. It was a severe sinus infection (called pansinusitis) that ultimately resulted in surgery on June 27, 2024.

She recovered remarkably well and officially began her service on July 21, 2024.

She’s written ten songs for her new album (and we produced four music videos!) the past few months on days she felt well enough to record. We will be releasing eight of them while she’s gone. (Two of them we had to put in the vault until she returns.)

So stay tuned for all of her amazing songs that will be coming the next few months! I’ll also post a few pictures on her stories from her work as a missionary in Brazil! She loves to hear from all of you, so please continue to like and comment on her posts! I will be responding to comments (on her behalf—I’ll type exactly what she wants to say back to you!) when I talk to her on her preparation days! ❤️❤️

5/16/24 (original post): i leave to tell the people of brazil the goodness of Jesus Christ in 25 days!! i couldn't be more excited to spread the happiness and joy i feel through Christ.

although i am leaving for 18 months, it will feel like i haven't left. i have so many surprises up my sleeve☺️

ONE YEAR! one entire year being a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ. this year has been the wildest, most challenging year i have ever experienced. i know i couldn’t have done this without my Savior by my side. if i walk away from my mission knowing one thing, it will be that i know Jesus loves me.

i’ve experienced and witnessed miracles, drunk men yelling at us, God’s elect being baptized, people making fun of my accent, my mind opening and learning portuguese, yummy food, the blazing sun, sacrificing my own desires, being the jr comp to the holy ghost, reading the book of mormon 5 times, doors slamming in my face, the joys of making new lifelong friends, cultural differences, tiny little everyday miracles, and lots of cake. like a lot of cake.

it’s hard to sum up a whole year of your life in just a few pictures, but i love each of these people with my whole heart!!!!!! all the incredible people i have met have made it all worth it.

i don’t even have any words!!!! just extremely excited for what this next year holds. here’s to giving it my all until dec 15th!!!!!
