Today my wife and I officially launched Flip’s Farm after my late dog Flip. The farm will rehabilitate dogs from the shelter and give them safe haven until they’re ready to be adopted. All of this will be supported by Flip Coffee that we are growing on our Southern CA farm (tagged in this post) Link in bio for the video that gives all details 🐶🤙

I don’t care if Pumpkin needs 7 days or 7 months to rehabilitate we’re gonna give him all the time he needs and when he’s ready to take the next step to his forever family I’ll be there ❤️💪 thanks for all of the encouragement along the way - he’s gonna need it 🥹

When I first met Pumpkin something inside me just said “pick him up and walk out of here”. I listened to my heart and did just that. But if I’m being fully transparent I am really disheartened that no one else sees what I see in Pumpkin. He’s kind, trusting, gentle and handsome. It’s been almost 3 months since I announced he’s available for adoption but the right person hasn’t come along. Is that you? Link in bio for more info on this amazing guy Pumpkin. ❤️🐶

His backstory really helps explain why he won’t let anyone touch him, and once we found out about his “situation,” when he was getting groomed, it all came together. His family couldn’t keep him, but the good news is we are all here to help him now. Thank you for helping me spread the word and a big thanks to @animalfriendsofthevalleys and the entire team over there for helping pets that need help every day 🙏❤️

Here’s why Lilly is going to be our first Flip’s Farm permanent resident…

First is because I love her more than the moon. Her big cute head, booty scootin’, real life squishy plush toy of a body will melt your heart.
But also because she needs twice weekly therapy, medication and full time management and I don’t know if she will be with us for 2 months or 2 years - but it will be a shorter life and I know she’ll tell me when it’s time.

Lilly has Epiphyseal Dysplasia and that means over time things will not fully grow, her discomfort will increase and the pain will not be bearable. It’s a hereditary disorder in dogs that affects the epiphyses, or growth plates, of long bones. This leads to abnormal bone development, resulting in short, deformed limbs, and can cause constant lameness, pain, and joint problems.

If you remember, she first came to our farm with her sister Katie. Katie’s condition was much more severe that we helped her over the rainbow bridge once our team and doctors had a clear full picture of her prognosis.

The great news is we now have some awesome team members that are helping with Lilly’s care and management of our pups so Kelly and I are not left to do it all. And the team has fallen in love with her just as much as I have. While I believe having a family is the absolute best thing any dog could have, I can’t ask someone to take on the responsibility and cost that comes with Lilly. AND inevitably having to make the hard decision to help Lilly over the rainbow bridge when it’s time, as she likely will have a much shorter life span.

Flip’s Farm is not a sanctuary but rather a stop on the journey for pets to heal mentally or physically until they are ready for their forever home. But above all else, we are here to help in any way we can with the means we have. With Lilly we are going to live every day to its fullest and find ways to make the farm feel like a home and family. From Puppuccinos to fetch, and finding a couch to watch a movie on, we will find those moments to let her know she is loved. Thank you for being a part of Lilly’s journey and know that she can feel your love.
