Produced by NOWNESS @nowness.china and with international sales by Parallax, this short film is set to captivate audiences with its unique narrative.

🙎Inspired by the graphic novel “I Will Go Ahead”by Japanese artist Momoe Narazaki @momoenarazaki , “A Very Straight Neck”takes viewers on a surreal journey through dreams, memories, and reality, all triggered by a woman’s sudden severe neck pain upon waking. It‘s a story that delves deep into the human experience, exploring the intricate connections between the physical and the emotional.

🔥This marks the second time Neo Sora’s work has been selected for the shorts competition at Locarno, following the acclaim of “The Chicken”in 2020. Neo continues to impress the international film community with his distinct visual style, building on the success of “Happyend”, which was celebrated at prestigious festivals like Venice, New York, and Toronto over the past two years.
