Day 5 of 🌸growing my petals back🌸 and avoiding the flu was not on my agenda (although I did lowkey expect this with the amount of cases going around our area)

I’m going strong to avoid it so far so this is what I’ve been doing:

- colloidal silver
- oil of oregano 
- loads of immune focused vitamins (and I mean LOADS)
- homeopathic
- electrolytes in my water to keep my body hydrated and encourage me to drink enough water @drinkhyro (my flavour launches Aug 20th)

Pray that I can stay healthy and avoid this terrible sickness my boys have been smashed with!

Day Two: actually taking care of myself and growing back my petals amongst the business of raising 3 kids, running a household and running my own business🌼

I’m hoping to continue to document and share my journey for the next 60 days!

As a notoriously driven and ambitious individual, I often fill my plate too much, over-commit and end up falling into the state of being that I have dubbed “petal-less flower”

While this used to make me feel really overwhelmed, I’m a lot better at identifying that I’m in the verge of burnout and need to put changes and actions in place to grow my petals back. 

Don’t get me wrong - my petals are plucked doing things I love like breastfeeding, raising my kids, wifey life, running my business, creative shoots and managing our new build. However, it often reaches a point where my wellbeing, health and happiness takes a back seat. 

So this is me. Growing back my petals and pouring little by little back into the cup that’s just Sarah🌼

BEFORE // AFTER in my natural hair era✨

I’m LOVING where my hair is at right now so no drastic changes at this appointment. @kirbylagohair did a beautiful gloss and toner over my natural colour, added some baby lights around my face and added one layer of mini @greatlengthsaus keratin bond extensions to add a little bit more body so I could achieve the bouncy, blowout look I was after. 

What do we think of the natural era? Would we call this dirty blonde or light brown!?

I did not anticipate this happening to me at the age of 32 butttttt we roll with the punches.

When it comes to hair though, I feel like you guys can often see what I can’t (not including the greys that are gracing my entire part line).

🔥the buuuuurrnnn!! Sweaty Shredders are still my favourite workouts when I’m short on time and want maximum output.

🥘Gut Loving Chicken Noodle Soup
SERVES: 6-8
GLUTEN FREE, DAIRY FREE, NUT FREE 

✨INGREDIENTS:
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 brown onion (finely diced)
2 large garlic cloves (minced)
3-4 stalks celery (finely diced)
1 large carrot (peeled and finely diced)
1 heaped Tbsp fresh ginger (grated)
1 heaped tsp fresh turmeric (grated) if you only have access to turmeric powder this is also ok just add ½ tsp
Whole organic, free range chicken
1 litre chicken stock 
1 cup water
1-2 Tbsp bone broth glue or bone broth of your choosing I use a lemon and herb one
2-3 bay leaves
Salt and pepper
2 cups tuscan kale (finely chopped)
1 cup fresh parsley (finely chopped)
½ cup frozen peas
150g noodles/pasta of choice

METHOD:
1. Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in a large dutch oven/cast iron saucepan and saute onion and garlic until fragrant

2. Add celery, carrot, ginger and turmeric and saute for 2 minutes

3. Reduce heat to low and add whole chicken, chicken stock, water, bone broth, bay leaves and a generous seasoning of salt and pepper

4. Cover with a lid and cook on low, stirring occasionally for 6 hours or until chicken is falling off the bone

5. Remove bay leaves and chicken from the pot. Separate the meat from the bones. Discard the bones and return the chicken meat to the pot along with kale, peas, parsley and noodles

6. Stir gently and allow to simmer until noodles are fully cooked (do not over cook)

7. Remove from the heat, season with additional salt and pepper if necessary and serve as is or with a side of sourdough
