Dan was paralyzed while building a home. He is STILL an incredible builder! #unstoppable We designed this built-in bunkbed/playhouse about a year ago and it has been an absolute labor of love this year! We are pressing to get it finished ASAP because these babies have been sleeping with their mattresses on our living room floor and we don’t have a place for our Christmas tree. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Dan has been working tirelessly in between all of the other craziness he’s dealing with and yesterday it was finished enough to put their mattresses in temporarily (until we pull them back out to paint this week)!!! They were so excited! What an incredible gift their daddy is giving them! Not only a DREAM bedroom, but the priceless lessons he is teaching them along the way! As they were going to sleep last night, they both said “Thank you Daddy and Mommy for our bedroom!” 🥹💜♿️💪 #worthit

It took a major leap of faith on so many levels to follow God’s promptings to do IVF & bring our last 2 baby girls to our family. These babies are a pure manifestation of God’s love for us. He KNEW the bigger picture. He knew our fears & hesitations & put them to rest so His plan could prevail. He KNEW that the love of these babies would be enough to get Dan & I through all of our hard days. They have given us purpose & filled our souls with love. They are miracles… in every sense of the word. God is so good. If you are feeling lost or alone or hopeless. PLEASE Seek Him. ❤️

Dan’s being admitted into the hospital again…the infection is ramping up in his leg again… LIFE!🎢

If you missed it, this week our interview with Ed Mylett (that was recorded in May) was released. It was released after several hard months of endless hospital visits and stays. It was released on the morning that Dan’s sister passed away. God’s timing is perfect. This might seem weird but right now I feel like we need to listen to our own interview on replay to remind us of who we are and how much we’ve overcome. This is getting hard. I just read the write-up on the podcast and just want to sincerely thank @edmylett for the kind words that are strengthening us when we are feeling weak (see comments).

Dan’s sister passed way unexpectedly yesterday morning from a septic UTI. He was by her side with his siblings & mom the whole night and into the next day. For those of you who have been here for a while you know that Dan nearly died 1.5 years ago from the same situation. This was a very sobering and hard situation. Life. Is. Hard. Let this be your sign to slow down. Breathe. Give yourself grace and be thankful you are breathing today! There are so many blessings amidst the storms. We just need to trust in and rely on God for the peace that only comes through Him. #godisamazing

We feel beyond excited & blessed to be sharing this interview with you. We filmed this months ago & as always, God’s timing is perfect. Oddly enough, DAN AND I need to see this interview today to remind us how strong we are. Dan’s health has really been dragging us down lately and on top of that, he is sitting in the hospital as we speak with his siblings & mom as his older sister is transitioning from this life to the next after years of health struggles. Life is hard guys… so hard. But man do we have so much to be thankful for. So much to live for. Thank you so much Ed for this interview. You are an incredible person & your time & kindness meant the world to us.

This video shows Dan pushing through and getting things done - even though it’s hard. Life has actually been really exhausting lately. Since the end of February when Dan was first admitted to the hospital for the cellulitis infection, Dan’s spirits & energy have been down a lot & we are both mentally and physically exhausted from the constant worry of this infection. Honestly, it’s been dragging us down as a couple and we are both feeling it…bad. It’s so easy to pull away from each other and deal with hard things on our own. Today I’m committing to leaning in instead of pulling away… We are going on a hot date tonight and recharging. Wish us luck 😊💜.

I got up early to drop our son off for a camping trip with his church group. This is what I came home to 🥹💜. This little one was up at 4am whining & having trouble sleeping. I finally brought her to bed with us & she finally fell back asleep 2 minutes before my alarm went off ☠️😳🥱. THIS perfect morning moment was worth it. Look for the Silver Linings! Speaking of… Dan’s leg is still pretty swollen and retaining a ton of water but the infection seems to be staying at bay so that’s good. Thanks for your continued prayers… I’d be lying if I said that this season of life with Dan’s health isn’t mentally & physically draining both of us…

Dan and I met 12 years ago shortly after he was paralyzed. It’s been so crazy for both of us to see the world SO differently since then. Everywhere we go we HAVE to immediately think about IF and how Dan can park, enter the building, be able to use the bathroom etc. If you want to see the world through our eyes for a minute, check out our podcast episode that dropped today… I think it will be interesting to you all! 💜♿️💪

Update on Dan: So we’ve had this family trip planned FOREVER. My parents were gone for two years on a church mission and this was the weekend we were all going to reunite and camp as an extended family. We have SO been looking forward to camping with my siblings and parents and the kids were excited to spend time with Grandpa, Mima, Aunts, Uncles & cousins. So when Dan ended up in the hospital on Tuesday we were so frustrated and worried. We had planned to leave Thursday morning and by Wednesday night we were FaceTiming each other- frustrated and crying thinking I was either going to have to make the trip with the kids alone or not go at all. Miraculously and thankfully Dan was released with a strong oral antibiotic and the doctor’s blessing to go on the trip. I literally picked him up on the way out of town and we made it here last night!!! There is nothing better than spending time with family in the small town that I visited my grandparents in my whole life. We’re so thankful! Thank you all for your prayers. #smalltownusa

Also, SO THANKFUL it happened before we left. Dan had bacteria in his blood when they tested it which could have been deadly if we were up camping and not near a good hospital. God of amazing. 🥹💜🙏🏻
