Black Mental Health Week runs from March 3 to March 9, 2025, and we’re partnering with the City of Toronto and Taibu Community Health Center to bring you the first official Iron Sharpens Iron Conference on March 7! ✨ This is a two-part event with limited space, so be sure to register early(link in bio). We’re also welcoming youth (16+) because these conversations are crucial for all of us. Black Ice: Words can’t fully capture how thankful I am for this season. I’m deeply grateful for all the creatives and collaborators who were part of this incredible night and everyone who filled the room with love. This night was more than a celebration; It’s inspiring to see Black men openly discussing real issues, breaking barriers, and fostering change. To me, Black Ice symbolized celebrating and uplifting the diamonds in the rough while “breaking the ice” on critical conversations about mental health and entertainment. Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Thank you for the team that helped put this vision together and the countless hours it took @loft11management thank you Tahjai for being the best brand manager one could ask for. Flashback Friday: 10 Years of Iron Sharpens Iron. There was always a safe space for Black Men, for All Men…but we want more people to know about it. What started from a conversation in a basement lead to lives changed and healing. A movement that has God’s hand on it. Thank you my brother @joelwitton for these years brother and believing in this. The hardest thing about grief is it’s not linear. There is no time stamp. I’m not just mourning the loss of a father; I’m mourning the weight of his decisions. Putting his body to rest means no more pain for him but I can’t help that there is still pain inside of me. Thank you for everyone for the calls, prayers; showing up with food, and showing up with love. For anyone going through and doing the work to break traumas and generational curses here are some promises from God. Isaiah 61 :3 a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. :7 Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. Forgive yourself; forgive others..none of us are perfect, cry out to God he hears the cries of the broken hearted. One day too my children won’t be proud of my decisions; but I’ll show them…I’ll warn them…I’ll love them every step of the way.

MTL: recap I’m on autopilot right now. I know I need to make space to grieve, but in the meantime, I feel called to keep moving. Last Friday, we launched our Iron Sharpens Iron pilot in Montreal—and I’m still trying to find the right words to describe how powerful it was. Brothers who had never been in a space like this opened up, shared their stories, encouraged one another, and we even celebrated solid marriages and strong examples of fatherhood. It was deep. It was healing. It was necessary. Thank you to @naandco @thenicoleantoine for proving a space for Black men to heal and feel safe! The goal is to officially launch this fall. Huge thank you to my brother @svens_telemaque for holding it down with me. I appreciate you and can’t wait to keep building. And you leading this space! @ironsharpensirontoronto meets MONTREAL! Also had the opportunity to teach filmmaking to youth—and yes, we made a movie! All while navigating fatherhood, showing up for a tournament, and dealing with family matters. One day at a time. Dear God; 🕊️ Got the call this morning. Told my children. Hugged my children. Got angry. Cried. Felt numb. Still numb. Couldn’t get the three words I needed. Thankful my children got to meet you. Checked on my sisters. Spoke to my mom. Still processing…. I now have the puzzle piece I was missing to complete my son’s puzzle and my daughters. I want that piece for my sisters and for me. Still processing… Wesley Aston Crossfield Rest in Peace Dad. I’ll honour you as a photographer, as a singer, as a man who had 6 children with my mother. Everything else is between you and God. Cancer sucks, dementia sucks. I’ll probably delete this later. Thanks for the calls, for the love and support and the messages and the prayers. Live the best life you can. Make good decisions. Give love, show love ❤️ be love. Don’t just trust God; do what God says and you’ll be good.
