홈리스가 되고난 뒤 떠난 뉴욕여행

성수동 집을 빼고 다음 집으로 이사하는데 한달 정도 시간이 떠서 뉴욕에 왔습니다. 다행히도 많은 사람을 만나고 재밌는 경험했습니다.

뉴욕은 스펙트럼이 정말 넓었어요. 거리는 더럽지만 빌딩은 엄청 멋있고, 보약냄새 가득한 길거리에 엄청 다양한 사람들까지, 뉴욕에 있는동안 도파민 분출이 잠잠해질 틈이 없었습니다. 그런 바이브가 너무 좋았고 무엇보다 센트럴파크.. 너무 아름답습니다.. 뉴욕에 살고싶어졌습니다😳

A Trip to New York After Becoming Homeless

I had to move out of my place in Seongsu-dong, and since there was about a month gap before moving into the next one, I came to New York. Thankfully, I met many people and had some really fun experiences.

New York had such a wide spectrum. The streets were dirty, but the buildings were incredibly stunning. The city smelled like herbal medicine at times, and the variety of people was incredible. While I was in New York, there wasn’t a single moment for my dopamine levels to rest. I loved that kind of vibe — and most of all, Central Park… it was absolutely beautiful. I started wanting to live in New York 😳

My first pop-up in Seoul 🇰🇷

From June 11–15, I held a kimchi sandwich pop-up at @hammers_seoul in Seoul!

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who came by.
Honestly, I feel like I gained more from this pop-up than I gave.
Some of you traveled a long way just to visit, brought so much positive energy, shared kind words, and made me feel that my content truly has value.
It reminded me that I’ve been doing something right all along.

Seeing you smile, talk with me, and enjoy the kimchi sandwich—those moments made me incredibly happy.

This all started with a simple piece of content: I wanted to introduce kimchi to more people around the world, so I created the kimchi sandwich.
I never imagined it would turn into a real-life pop-up,
and I definitely didn’t expect people to love it this much.

I’m already thinking of new ways to create fun things with kimchi—hopefully another great opportunity comes soon!
And if any brands out there are interested in working together, please feel free to reach out. Let’s make it happen :)

저의 첫번째 팝업

6월 11~15일 동안 서울 hammers에서 김치샌드위치를 파는 팝업했는데요

우선 방문해주신 분들 너무 감사했습니다! 이번 팝업을 하면서 제가 얻어가는게 더 많은 거 같아요..
먼 거리임에도 불구하고 와주셔서 긍정적인 에너지를 주시고 좋은 말도 많이 해주시면서 제 컨텐츠에 대한 가치도 높게 사주시고.. ‘지금까지 잘 살아왔구나’ ‘컨텐츠도 잘 만들어왔구나’ 라고 생각이 들었습니다.
또한 저와 만나서 이야기하고 김치 샌드위치 먹으면서 행복해하는 여러분의 모습을 보니까 너무 너무 행복했어요..

김치가 해외 사람들에게 더 널리 알려지기 바라는 마음에 김치 샌드위치를 컨텐츠로 만들었었는데 이게 팝업으로 이어질거라고 상상도 못했어요.
그리고 사람들이 이 김치 샌드위치를 그렇게 좋아할거라는 것도 상상치 못했습니다..
다음에도 좋은 기회에 김치 샌드위치 같이 김치를 이용해서 재밌는 것을 기획해볼게요 :)

I went to one of the countries I really wanted to visit

Most of the time in Italy was beautiful. The weather was warmer than in Korea, and almost bright and sunny days, making it perfect for traveling. To me, the food was.. a bit salty but aside from that, everything was perfect, and I gain 4kg.

And really thank you everyone for the recommendation, advice and many many help for trip🙏🏻

날씨가 더워지는 요즈음, 잃어버린 입맛을 찾아줄 무언가 없을까 고민하게 됩니다… 이럴 때 집에서 ‘혼자서’ ‘간단하게’ 만들 수 있는 여름 별미! 김치비빔국수 레시피 소개해드릴게요. :)

김치비빔국수 레시피 (1인분)

1. 물에 상온 달걀 1개를 넣고 물을 끓여 6분 30초 동안 익힌 뒤 찬물에 넣어 반숙 달걀을 만들어줍니다.

2. 계란이 익을 동안 오이 1/5개를 3cm 길이로 채를 썰어줍니다.

3. 소면 100g을 끓는 물에 2분간 저어주며 골고루 익히고, 면을 건져 내 흐르는 물에 한 번 씻어줍니다.

4. 면의 물기가 빠지는 동안 믹싱볼에 다음과 같은 재료를 넣고 섞어 소스를 만들어 줍니다.
김치비빔국수 소스: 고춧가루 1큰술, 설탕 1큰술, 다진 마늘 1큰술, 고추장 2큰술, 간장 1큰술, 식초 1큰술, 참기름 1큰술, 김치

5. 골고루 익힌 면을 만들어 놓은 소스와 비벼줍니다.

6. 반숙 계란과, 채를 썬 오이를 고명으로 올려줍니다.

7. 더욱 시원하게 드시고 싶다면 얼음을 올려도 좋습니다.

레시피를 따라 김치비빔국수를 만들 때 제가 정말 좋아하는 저만의 ‘컬리템’을 소개해드립니다!

쿠킴의 혼밥 추천 컬리템 3가지

1) 청양 통참깨 참기름
한식에서 좋은 참기름을 사용하면, 그 음식의 풍미가 한층 깊어지죠. 좋은 참기름을 찾기 위해 흔히 방앗간을 찾지만 도시 한가운데에 사는 저로선 매번 좋은 참기름을 구하기가 쉽지 않았습니다. 이런 상황에서 청양의 통참깨 참기름을 발견했고, 진한 향과 고소한 맛에 반해 사랑하게 되었습니다.

2) 이보노이토 일본 수제 소면
일반 소면에 비해 식감이 더 쫄깃하고 탱탱해서 너무 좋아하고 애용하는 소면입니다. 면발이 쉽게 불거나 끊기지 않아서 요리에 서툰 분들도 다루기 쉬워요. 남녀노소 구별없이 모두가 좋아하는 국수엔 이보노이토 소면을 사용해 보시길 추천해 드릴게요.

3)농협풍산김치 맛김치
김치가 다 떨어질 때면 가장 먼저 떠올리는 농협풍산김치입니다. 우선, 김치 맛이 깔끔하니 훌륭합니다. 게다가 김치를 사면 썰고, 옮겨 담고.. 번거로울 때가 많은데요, 농협 풍산김치는 새로운 통에 옮길 필요가 없다는 점이 저에겐 장점으로 다가왔습니다. 적절한 사이즈로 냉장고에 쏙 들어가고, 1-2인 가구나 자취러들에겐 금상첨화일 듯 하네요.

2023년은 일생에 몇번 없는 운이 연달아 좋았습니다
좋은 사람을 만나고, 노력 대비 큰 결과를 얻었고, 소중하고 값진 경험을 했습니다

2024년에 어떤 일이 벌어질지 알수없지만 항상 감사하고 항상 최선을 다하겠습니다:)

2023년 일어난 일
- 팔로워 500명(1월) -> 104만명(12월)
- cookim 포기하려던 순간 갑자기 팔로워 엄청 늘음
- 햇빛 안드는 작은 집에서 탈출
- 정말 다양한 사람들을 만남(제일 좋았음)

2023 has been a lucky year in a lifetime
I met a good person, got great results for my efforts, and had a precious and valuable experience

I don't know what's going to happen in 2024, but I'm always grateful and I'll always do my best :)

What Happened in 2023
- 500 followers (January) -> 1.04 million (December)
- As soon as I was about to give up on the cookim, I suddenly have a lot of followers
- Escape from a small house without sunlight
- Meeting a wide variety of people (the best)
