Captured by @kevin.zaouali, a kelp gull feeds on the remains of a sea lion shortly after an orca hunt.
Moments later, a large male orca named Jaluel returns to claim what is left.
This encounter was filmed off the coast of Punta Norte in Península Valdés, Argentina. Orcas here are known for hunting sea lions close to shore.
Their kills often attract other species such as gulls that scavenge the remains. On this day, 16 orcas were seen in the area and several hunts were successfully recorded. Via @rawrszn

Bluefin Tuna putting on a show! 🐟 As an aftermath of a huge marine conservation win 💪🏽 Breathtaking footage by @henrykirkwoodfilmmaking & @thelonekayaker! Check them out for more.

@henrykirkwoodfilmmaking: “For over 60 years, Bluefin Tuna have not been spotted anywhere around the UK, but in recent years, due to stricter fishing regulations, they have made an astonishing comeback!

Last week, I filmed these enormous fish (some 400kg) hunting garfish and Atlantic saury. It was difficult to predict where the tuna would erupt from below, but every now and then a panicked baitfish would leap out of the water in an attempt to escape, often followed by the tuna.

Exceptional UK wildlife in full flow! 🇬🇧”

Via @newscientist: Do Amazon river dolphins send messages with aerial streams of urine? 🐬

Male Amazon river dolphins have been observed shooting jets of urine into the air and other dolphins seem to follow the stream, perhaps to pick up social cues

ANGLERFISH ARE YOU KIDDING! 🤯 I was absolutely mind blown by this video filmed by @jara.natura! 🌊 Sorry for the absence legends but we are back, all thanks to this incredible little fish! 🐟 Read more info on this unique deep sea dweller below.

By @jara.natura with @condrik_tenerife on his experience: “It could be the first recorded sighting in the world of a living adult black seadevil or abyssal anglerfish (Melanocetus johnsonii) in broad daylight and at the surface! 😱

A legendary fish that very few people have had the privilege of seeing alive.

So far, existing records only include larvae, dead adult specimens, or deep-sea footage captured by submarines.

Emerging from the abyssal depths in a vertical swim, just 2 km off the coast of Tenerife and during one of our pelagic shark research campaigns, @laiavlr spotted this creature at the surface. Immediately afterward, @vidamarina.tenerife, @sabu726, and @jara.natura captured spectacular and unusual footage of the animal.

This is a true deep-sea predator, living at depths between 200 and 2,000 meters. It uses its bioluminescent dorsal appendage, filled with symbiotic bacteria, as a lure to attract prey—just like in the popular movie Finding Nemo.

The reason for its presence in such shallow waters is uncertain. It could be due to illness, an upwelling current, escaping a predator, or another unknown factor.

Its genus name, Melanocetus, literally means “black sea monster”—a fitting name given these images.

Widely distributed, this species inhabits tropical and subtropical seas worldwide and was first recorded along the coast of Madeira.”
