Custom rugs + cozy vibes 🧶✨! Perfect for date night or a group hang. Habibi Bazaar is a rug tufting workshop located inside Spring Street Studios in the Heights - and it’s seriously one of the most fun hands-on activities in Houston right now. Whether you want to create your own design or you can simply order and have it done for you like this GIANT Snorlax rug lol! The owner, Pamela, is the sweetest and will make sure you leave with something you’re proud of!

Another food recap + things to do in Houston lately ☺️✨! Tbh every now and then, I would think that there isn’t much left to do here in houston because I have already done most things. But I’ve learned that when I open my mind and stay curious, there’s always something new to discover. Whether it’s trying a different restaurant or just noticing little things—like the pink Crape Myrtle trees along the Beltway - Houston keeps surprising me. Hope this list inspires you to get out there and discover more of what the city has to offer! 🙏🏼

1. Dauphiné ravioli with comté, caramelized onion, and saba at @camaraderiehtx (looked beautiful and tasted just as good)!
2. Wings and corn cheese at @oneshot.htx
3. Matcha and pistachio latte at @lucecoffeehouston (the pistachio one has quickly become one of my favorite drinks)
4 & 5. Spent a day at the Museum of Fine Arts exploring the Floating World: A.A. Murakami exhibit
6. Banh mi from a new spot in Chinatown @thebanhmicompany (they definitely don’t skimp on the meat)
7. Mango sticky rice soft serve at @vanleeuwenicecream
8. Spotted the Crape Myrtle trees with bright pink blossoms along Beltway 8 (never noticed how pretty they were before).
9 & 10. Korean cold noodles and LA galbi at @k_tang_houston, a new Korean restaurant in Spring Branch
11. Malaysian-style sizzling tofu at @sambal_chef_tx (so good I could eat it every day)
12. Chilaquiles and Mexican coffee to start the morning at @casaemahtx
13. Discovered a new com tam (Vietnamese broken rice) spot called Com Que in Chinatown
14 & 15. Watched the July 4th fireworks along Allen Parkway at Eleanor Tinsley Park (somehow ended up with the best view by accident lol)
16. Joined @looselacerunclub for a weekly run—such a great way to meet new people and feel part of the community

Affordable burgers that actually hit 😮‍💨🍔🍟!! P. Terry’s Burger Stand has quietly popped up around the Houston area (Richmond and Spring, with more coming soon), and honestly, it’s one of the most budget-friendly spots with seriously good burgers. A cheeseburger for $3.65?? Double cheeseburger $5.25?? All made with 100% Black Angus beef. And don’t skip the crispy chicken burger ($5.10) or the chicken bites ($5). The fries are hand-cut from Idaho Burbank potatoes and always come out hot, fresh, and perfectly crispy. The oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and shakes are a must get too. Also, this month marks their 20th anniversary, so it’s the perfect time to check them out if you haven’t yet!

A New Pho Spot in Houston Asiatown 🍜✨! Located in Little Saigon (west of Chinatown), Di An Pho just opened up and they’re doing 50% off all of June for their soft opening. I got to try their signature pho bo (beef) and pho ga (chicken) — both were really good. The noodles are fresh, the broth is super clean and flavorful, and the meat is tender and high quality. I don’t usually go for chicken pho, but I really liked it here! If you’re in the area and craving something warm and comforting, definitely give this spot a try. Go soon before the deals are over!

A comforting Cantonese spot in Houston’s Chinatown 🥢🍲! If you’re in the area and craving something warm and filling, Yin Ji Chang Fen just opened and it’s worth checking out. Their rice rolls are soft and have a nice chewy texture to it. I tried the beef and shrimp, and both hit the spot. The congee is super comforting, especially with the fried dough stick on the side (a must!). Prices are reasonable and the food comes out quick. If you’re in the mood for something simple, cozy, and delicious, try it out!

Is this the best BBQ in Texas 🥩😮‍💨? Located in Fort Worth, Goldee’s Barbecue absolutely lives up to the hype. The brisket was probably some of the best I’ve had—perfectly seasoned & tender. The pork belly literally melted in my mouth, and it came with a housemade peach sauce…it’s so good that I want to dip everything in it lol. The pork hash with rice, the crunchy kale & cabbage slaw—everything was on point. I love how balanced the meal felt too. Tons of solid sides like cheese grits and Texas beans, so you’re not overwhelmed by just meat on meat. And don’t skip dessert—the bread pudding is a must.

Here are some must-try BBQ spots in Fort Worth, Texas 🍖🔥—figured I’d share since it is National BBQ Month after all. I took a little food trip recently and went all in (zero regrets). If you’re heading to Dallas or in the area, make some time to try these spots. I’m still thinking about all the briskets, burnt ends, and banana pudding like it owes me money 🥹.

1. The brisket and Texas Wagyu beef belly burnt ends were so flavorful. Also had the barbacoa taco, which was delicious and a nice switch-up from the usual BBQ offerings. @brixbarbecue
2. I didn’t get to try it (they were sold out by the time I arrived), but so many people have recommended it to me. If you’re into something more unique, this one should be on your list. @sabarbbq
3. This place lives up to the hype. Everything was delicious—from the brisket to the sausage to the banana pudding. The meal was super well-balanced and satisfying. Brisket was hands down one of my favorites of all time. @goldeesbbq
4.Mac & cheese, borracho beans, brisket, pork spare ribs, and especially the pork belly burnt ends… all of it was on point. The sides here really stood out. @panthercitybbq
5.Such a wholesome spot. The brisket, loaded elote and mac & cheese were satisfying, but the real surprise was the avocado burger—unexpected but so good. And their banana pudding? Might be the best I’ve had. @smokebonebbq

Might’ve just found my favorite banana pudding in Fort Worth at this Family-Run BBQ food truck✨🚚! Located on North Main St, Smoke & Bone serves up some solid Texas BBQ. I went all in with a full platter and everything was delicious: brisket, mac & cheese, loaded elotes with pulled pork, pork belly, and pork ribs, an avocado burger (not what I’d usually order at a BBQ joint—but it was amazing), and banana pudding that might just be the best I’ve had. Creamy, not too sweet, and filled with bananas inside. If you are in Fort Worth or in the area, definitely give them a try.

Houston’s Newest Japanese Lifestyle Store just opened up in the Heights 🇯🇵✨! Tadaima brings together Houston’s best local brands, vintage shops, and unique art pieces all in one spot. It’s located inside the Asch Building—a collection of cool shops—and it’s even connected to the new Heights Coffee shop so you can seamlessly stroll between the two and grab a matcha while you shop. On weekends, you’ll often find vendors set up outside in the shaded courtyard too, making it the perfect little weekend hangout.

Houston’s Newest & Cutest Asian American Diner just opened up in the Heights 🧇✨. The menu features classic comfort dishes, each with a unique twist. From savory scallion waffles inspired by Chinese-style pancakes with sambal butter, to comforting crawfish gumbo egg foo young (it’s so good I’m still thinking about it). The crispy shrimp was solid and well seasoned as well. Don’t miss the desserts—like the masa corn cake topped with pineapple jam and brown butter, served with your choice of horchata or chrysanthemum ice cream from Milk & Sugar. The space is just as good as the food—cozy, cute, and a lot of characters. If you are looking for a new spot to try, definitely give this one a try.

Is this Houston’s first Korean Seafood BBQ 🦞✨🇰🇷? Straight from LA, this spot just opened up in Chinatown and brings a unique seafood experience you won’t find anywhere else in the city. If you’ve been watching When Life Gives You Tangerine 🍊 on Netflix, you’ll understand the obsession with abalone lol and yes, it’s on the menu here. Along with a full spread of seafood options grilled right at your table. Overall I got to try a little bit of everything and enjoyed it. The side really surprised me as they were all very tasty. My favorite was the Korean ceviche, it was flavorful & refreshing. The steamed eggs were perfectly fluffy, and the Korean noodle soup was very comforting.
