Exactly 10years ago, we embarked on my very first feature movie “KALYBOS In CHINA” and the experience I had in making this project was one I will forever cherish. It all began when the CEO of Kofas media @1kofiasamoah a friend and a brother from film school NAFTI, discovered me and groomed me to became an actor from the comic skits “Boys Kasa”. We really enjoyed filming video skits from our good old film school days. Kofas came up with the idea that, why don’t we put together these skits and make a movie out of it ? To be honest I didn’t get the clear picture he was painting until he came up with the storyline of KALYBOS who wants to travel to USA and ended up in China. To be frank, most movies will set up through art direction that they traveled outside Ghana but truthfully all will be done here because the cost involved and the logistics not to talk about the process you go through to obtain a permit to be able to film in someone’s country and now we are talking about China ? Kofas said, Kaly we are going to China to film this. I told him , Koo we are all in the same hostel in school and we know the “Camboo” car you drive, where are we getting the money from to do this…. The magic he pulled through to get this project done, that’s who we call KOFAS.

The Premier of “KALYBOS in CHINA” recorded the most attended movie premiere ever in Ghana at Silverbird Cinemas both Accra and West hills mall. All cinema rooms were showing the movie with full capacity and as at 2:50am midnight, people were still joined in queue waiting to see the movie. I will never forget that day. From that day onwards, year after year saw movies like Amakye and Dede, John & John, Away Bus and many more with same multitude.

The journey into the movie industry has be wonderful thanks to God and one man called KOFI ASAMOAH and to the wonderful super talented crew and fellow actors in all the projects. Indeed we created MAGIC 🪄
