TRUTH: Strength training is how you build cardiovascular and muscular fitness. Even beginners show rapid improvements in strength, metabolism, and insulin sensitivity when starting a new lifting program. MYTH #2: Light weights + high reps = toned muscles. TRUTH: “Toning” is the result of increased lean muscle mass and reduced fat.
